Maj Joseph W. Rogers walks around Convair's F-106A 56-0459, the 1st aircraft assigned to attempt the Speed Record run, in preparation for the flight. 56-0459 however, was replaced with F-106A 56-0467 of AFFTC due to maintenance problems with 459. Colonel Rogers passed away on 6 Aug 2005.
