F-106 pilot Bruce Gordon in his F-106 after taking off from Guam, with tankers, in late 1969, flying across the Pacific to Hawaii and then back to Selfridge following the 94 FIS time spend in Korea. Bruce was the Quality Control Officer and a pilot. In this photo the tanker that took Bruce back to Hawaii asked to move in for a photo. He took this photo, and mailed it to Bruce at Selfridge a week later. [Bruce Gordon collection]
Bruce Gordon is one of my lifetime heros! He is an incredible man, extremely smart, outstanding FCF pilot, and absolutely dedicated to the F106 mission.. He was more than just a flyer. He knew the entire workings of the F106, mechanically, electrically, and flight characteristics. I recommend that while he is still on this earth that anyone who reads this try to meet him in person and treasure his presense. I hope he write a book on his experiences and about our favorite F106!
