F-106A 59-0022 on Armed Forces Day, May 1967, at Elmendorf AFB AK while assigned to the 318th FIS McChord AFB WA. does not have the painted tail flash. Not exactly sure why the tail isn't painted, although they did come back from Depot Maintenance from McClellan AFB CA unpainted after a PDM. Maybe it came back recently. From Marty Isham Collection
