3 Mar 1959 at Edwards Air Force Base - Major Don M. Sonic, F-106 Test Force Operations Officer, led a mass formation of nine Convair F-106 Delta Dart jets in a low level formation fly-by. This was the first Century Series aircraft to appear in such a large formation while still in flight test status.
