F-106B 57-2509 WesternAir Inc Restoration Chief, Mr. George Krug, El Paso International Airport, El Paso, TX . Ted Schmitz and his wife Vi were again invited down to El Paso to view and photograph the progress on the extensive rebuild effort. Since their previous sets of photos of Aug 2001 the cradle was finished and the fuselage has been installed in the cradle. Structural and corrosion repair is in work. The Restoration Chief, Mr. George Krug reports that the next step is to install the vertical stabilizer after which they will remove 509's fuselage from the cradle and install the wings.
