F-106A 56-0451 taxi testing the "Sheaffer Tail Hook". Note: No canopy installed, barrier cable & support tires appear airborne after being snagged by the tail hook, wing fences installed (installed on the first 17 aircraft) have been removed, the FC buzz number for the F-102B (painted on the first 3 aircraft) still on the forward fuselage prior to being changed to FE for the F-106, and the early YJ75-P-1 or -9 engine installed. A unique photo in a unique time of the F-106. [From Marty Isham Collection via P. Minert]
