“Sam and I Found crash site of Convair JF-106A Delta Dart, serial #57-0242, pilot: Capt. Edward C. Jones, crashed 10/27/1958

Pilot encountered flight control problems during acceptance tests out of Palmdale.

Pilot safely ejected and the aircraft crashed 7 miles north of Edwards, AFB. The aircraft crashed 1/4 mile from the nearest house in North Edwards. The jet crashed in the middle of a dirt road. The road has been graded, but parts were still found in and along the road. The ejection seat fell through the roof of a home on Vista Del Oro Street. The pilot landed uninjured in a nearby trailer court.

This was a customer acceptance flight for the Air Force. Kirkland AFB has no record

Sam gets all the credit for research and locating this crash site!
