F-106A 59-0130 selected as the primary demonstrator of the NASA Eclipse Program at Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards AFB, CA. Dryden performed modifications to convert this QF-106 drone into the piloted EXD-01 (Eclipse Experimental Demonstrator -01) experimental airplane. This shot is prior to that modification as it does not yet have the tow cable attachment and release mechanism forward of the cockpit installed yet. The Eclipse Project NASA pilot was an ex-Marine test pilot Mark 'Forger' Stucky.
