Security Policemen Airmen First Class Roger Runnels and Airman Basic Lannie Harman guarding the 78 FW Det 1 flight line. Detachment 1 of the 78th Fighter Wing was at the Fresno Municipal Airport. The 78th Fighter Wing consisted of several Fighter Interceptor Squadrons to include the 82n, 83d and 84th, the 84th the only unit flying F-106's. Although the Det 1 was called/named the "78th Fighter Wing Detachment 1" it appears during the time of these photos (1968-69) it was the 84th and their F-106's is what sat alert at the Det 1.
