Robert Wegeman writes: That’s my 59-0145 leading this formation with then Capt. ( Ret. Col. ) Ric “Doc” Zoerb at her controls! There’s a funny story behind this photo. I put Ric up to do this 7 ship fly by at the end of this Tyndall deployment, departing Tyndall on their way back to Langley. After returning to Langley, I found out, Ric had been grounded for two weeks because of this non pre briefed fly by to Tyndall Control tower. I made sure I got an 8x10 copy of this photo, went over to our op’s building back at Langley, found Ric, gave him the photo and apologized to him for putting him up to it. Ric took the photo, grinning and spoke to me, and said, “Don’t worry about it, Bob. I would have done it, anyway.” And then we both broke out, chuckling!
