The first years of 590086's life were spent as an AFSC systems test bird. Here is a composite image with a caption I found a long time ago. Of special note was that she had systems removed and sent to LTV in Texas for some test project. I have yet to find out what the project was. I am still researching that. As far as I can ascertain, 590086 is the only F-106 that has MLS antennae installed (top and bottom). I have not found any connection between MLS and LTV. [Courtesy of Jim Mattison]
