F-106A 59-0080 of the 49 FIS Griffiss AFB, Rome NY at Tyndall during William Tell 1980. This was Lt Col Bruce Worrell’s jet (commander’s stripes hidden by the photo angle). Jim Stewart had 59-0081, Doug Forker had 59-0082 and Mark Shaw had 590083. The spare was 59-0079 flown by Ed Kroboth. The 49th FIS flew in William Tell 74, 76, 78, 80, 82. The 49th won in 78 and 82. WT80 is the first and only WT where a unit brought all 5 jets with consecutive tail numbers: 079, 080, 081, 082, & 083.
