On 29 Sep 2012 Robert states: "This was a TDY in addition to the normal alert. We were flying DACT with the F-4's from the Alabama Air National Guard. Got my backseat ride in F-106B s/n 59-0158 the very next day back to homestation at Langley. The pilot, Capt. Thomas Brundage, let me fly her for a while. I truly enjoyed it!:-) Ultrasensensitive on the stick and when using afterburner, she accelerated like a rocket. with dampers on at speed she was rock steady in flight!"
