Testing Ejection Seats on F-106B 57-2507 in the 1960's. Published on YouTube Apr 24, 2012: Testing of ejection seats for the F-104 and F-106 jet fighters by the United States Air Force. In the first test the seat is dropped from a cargo plane to test the stabilizing and parachute ejection mechanisms. The parachute fails to deploy correctly and the test pilot is rendered unconscious, however an automatic backup chute deploys and no injuries are sustained. In the next test a live ejection is performed from an F-106 jet fighter flying at 535mph. Ntotice the split. two-piece canopy on this B model.
