10 Aug 2002: Here's one to see if it works. This is the officer members of the 59FIS & GCI team at William Tell 1963. Don't know where the pilots are these days but the two in those terrible 505's, the intercept controllers, I kept track of. Don Bunce, front row left, retired as an O-6 (Col) out of Space Command and resides in COS. He and Col Hayden got me my SSGT stripe after William Tell. Sadly, Ron Osley, right front row, passed away in the late 70's after suffering several heart attacks. He had been an F-86 driver when he got the shaft and placed in GCI for a tour in Labrador. It was supposed to be limited to that one tour only but he was so good at his job and motivating people, the gave him another GCI assignment in a Sector Hqds upon his return to the states. However, being a pilot and wanting to fly, he got out after his return stateside and went to work for Vought and was employed as an Aero Engineer/test pilot on the F-8 project. In the early 70's, a heart problem was detected on an annual physical and his flying ceased. He continued working as an engineer for a couple of years until his health failed and retired to the south Florida area. He passed away in 1978 and his wife still resides in the Homestead area.
