F-106A 57-0230, here in 87th FIS colors, was written off by the 87th FIS and put on static display at Charleston AFB, SC in 1985. It remained there until Feb 1993 painted in the 87th FIS Red Bull paint scheme. This photo was taken by Dave Kuntz in 1991 in the Alert Area at Charleston. 57-0230 was one of my jets at KI Sawyer between 79-81. I remember a hard landing it had once that smashed up the tail a bit.
