Newly released in January, 2016 this 1/72 scale kit far outshines the dated Hasegawa version. The kit includes pretty much all the options one needs to build early, or late versions Sixes including early wheels, ejection seat, 230 gal external tanks, and round-eye, or vertical-taped instrument panels. Decals include 57-2455 (539th FIS), 57-2463 (186th FIS), and 59-0023 (119th FIS). These decals are unique, as they are the first I've seen with early, 539th FIS markings. The 186th FIS (MTANG) are not the correct "metallic", however I understand correct, aftermarket decals are forthcoming for 186th fans. Additionally, some errors in the instruction are obvious such as showing late-style ejection seat triangles on the 539th Six, armament placards on both sides of the fuselage for all three aircraft, and other small items. Also be advised that the Meng rudder is approximately 2mm larger than the Hasegawa kit, so be careful if you use older decals (such as the 101st, or 186th) designed for the Hasegawa kit which are designed to cover the entire rudder from top-to-bottom. (The Hasegawa rudder was incorrectly scribed at their factory.)
