QF-106 AIRFRAMES
- QF-106B 57-2509, minimal records, fuselage exterior paint stripped, cockpit equipment removed, fuselage installed in jig.
- QF-106B 57-2543, minimal records, fuselage exterior paint stripped, disassembled.
- QF-106B 57-2545, no records, disassembled.
- QF-106A 58-0786, 58-0786, no records, assembled in prep for static display. Primered gray.
- QF-106A 59-0047 781 records only. Assembled in prep for static display.
REASON FOR TERMINATION FROM DRONE PROGRAM
- 57-2509-Drone wire bundle fire in lower electronics bay-no structural damage from fire.
- 57-2543 –Nose gear damage.
- 57-2545-cracked engine inlet duct.
- 58-0786- cracked wire spar.
- 59-0047-cracked wire spar.
NOTES
- Only airframe with date plate is 57-2509. Others were evidently removed at Tyndal AFB.
- All control stick grips are missing. I have located one in Alamogordo and I personally own one.
- 3 Ejection seats are included
- Cockpits had some instruments still in them-I removed them and
boxed, tagged them
- All parts removed from 57-2509 in prep for restoration were tagged and boxed.
- NO canopy actuators as they were part of the ejection system.
- New longerons etc. manufactured to attach tails as it came from factory. Enough new parts for 2 aircraft.
- 1 J75-P-19 Engine minus tail pipe and nozzle-afterburner diffuser is on the engine. Tail pipe shroud is on hand. No records, engine is from F-106.
