Thanks for your comment. I am going back as soon as I don't need snowshoes to look for more parts. The tail number was my greatest find, but I wonder if you saw the canopy at the crash site, or if you think it would have been separated because of ejection.

I, along with several classmates from Clarkson College visited the crash site in 1978, about two weeks after the plane went down. The glide path that the plane came in on was long and obvious from the way it clipped the tree canopy, and the actual crash site was blackened, like the plane exploded on impact but did not experience a sustained burn.
