At the 456th FIS 2016 Mini-Reunion, held at Castle Air Museum in Atwater, CA, a plaque was added to the F-106 display to honor Lt Col John C. Marcotte. John was the last commander of the 456th which was retired when the squadron was moved to Oxnard AFB, CA
