Wright Patterson AFB, OH

The first F-106 to be on display at WPAFB was 56-0451.  It was replaced by 58-0787.  Aircraft 58-0787 arrived at WPAFB in August, 1986, for permanent display.   This is the only jet ever to land by itself after the pilot bailed  out   that was returned to flying status.  For the complete story on "Snow Bird", check out the 71st FIS page.
